China Women Travel Service(CWTS) is an international travel agency set up by All-China Women’s Federation in June,1985,approved by the State Tourism Administration and registered by the Administrative Bureau of the State Industry and Commerce. With its head office in Beijing, CWTS has holding companies in Guangdong, Shanghai, Dalian and Hong Kong and it also has branch offices in major China’s tourist cities. It mainly runs inbound tours, domestic tours as well as outbound tours which was especially approved by the State Tourism Administration. It also runs other business such as selling domestic and international air tickets as well as domestic train tickets.

Since its founding, CWTS has offered services to large numbers of people who came to China to travel, to make business research, to participate in international conference, exchanges on women issues and culture, summer or winter camp, to adopt Chinese babies and so on. The tourists were deeply impressed by the reception style of CWTS characterized by warmth, thoughtfulness and carefulness.

Since 1994 CWTS has been assessed by the State Tourism Administration as one of the top 100 travel agencies in China. In May 1997, the State Tourism Administration approved CWTS to run outbound tours according to the achievements made by CWTS.

CWTS has already organized many Chinese citizens to tour in South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Southeast Asian countries as well as Hong Kong and Macao regions.

Besides sending general tour groups of the Chinese people to travel abroad, CWTS also organized special investigation tours for Chinese women and summer or winter camp for Chinese students in order to promote the international exchanges between women and children of China and other countries and regions.

In addition to receiving general tour groups, CWTS has also taken care of many big groups of women and children for friendly cultural exchanges. In September 1995, during the period of the 4 th UN World Conference on Women, CWTS received several thousands of delegates who participated in NGO form on Women in Beijing. CWTS has also taken care of several big Japanese women groups and organized Asia women’s painting exhibitions and concerts performed by Chinese and Japanese music lovers.

In domestic tours, CWTS has made full use of women federation’s network and organized women of grassroots level to go to developed regions for research and study tours that have greatly enriched their knowledge and opened their eyes.
